Analysis Team Presents: The Ess-Basics Webcast Series

Do you want to know what’s behind the “magic” of Oracle Essbase – what makes it work?

Perhaps you’ve just been assigned a role in an Essbase implementation project.  Or maybe you’ve been designated to be administrator for an Essbase solution that your colleagues rely on for business-critical analysis and reporting.  As a user you generally know what Essbase is, but now you need to learn how it works “under the hood”.

Our multi-part series is a guided tour of the main components of this popular analytic tool and how they come together to make a “cube”.  In each episode we’ll discuss a major foundational component of Essbase, and using our surf shop business as a case example we’ll include a demonstration showing how each component works.

Our presentation is for an audience of Essbase beginners, and our goal is to provide a high-level functionality overview that can serve as a roadmap for learning the technical details of Essbase, whether for administration and support, or for solution development.

Each 55-minute webcast is scheduled to be presented live:

Ess-basics Episode 1: Outline

What defines the structure of a cube?  What are dimensions and hierarchies?  What are the main features of an Outline that make it useful for business modeling?

Ess-basics Episode 2: Load Rules

Ess-basics Episode 4: Smart View
