At the recent COLLABORATE 17 Conference in Las Vegas (April 2-6, 2017), Analysis Team co-presented with our client, St. Jude Medical, recently acquired by Abbott. COLLABORATE is an annual technology and applications forum for the Oracle community, and is widely attended by thousands of industry experts and users.
Doug Pearce of Analysis Team, together with Lisa Jones, Director Financial Systems from Abbott, shared how St Jude Medical has continued to build on the success of their Oracle Essbase and Applied OLAP Dodeca solution. The initial Essbase and Dodeca implementation was presented in more detail at last year’s Collaborate conference, where it was discussed how St. Jude Medical was able to reinvent and dramatically improve the company’s entire worldwide planning process.
The presentation this year focused on developments since this initial success, and highlighted how St. Jude Medical took the opportunity to further improve their business processes by retiring an outdated sales reporting system and leveraging their existing Essbase and Dodeca platforms. The presentation gave insight of how this project dramatically improved performance and functionality, even with the fast implementation time and low implementation cost. The solution was able to cater to specific user requests for a one-stop shop for actuals, planning and forecasting.
